So, I think someone forgot to mention to D-NA that the basis of American Football is that ridiculously LARGE, muscular men tackle each other, for glory and fame and maybe a little bit for the exciting rush that comes with grabbing another man’s butt?
Granted, the oldest member of the group is only turning 20 in a couple of days, but still, if they’re gonna deck themselves in the stars and stripes a la Rex-Kwon-Do and proceed to pretend to play football, they should maybe consider donning a muscle suit like George Michael did in Arrested Development.
I just can’t believe for a second that these boys smell nearly as bad as the football players at my high school did. I don’t want them to smell that bad either. I guess it’s a win-win situation here.
You know that jingle for pizza bagels that goes something like, “pizza in the morning, pizza in the evening, pizza at super time: when pizza’s on a bagel, you can have pizza anytime!” That is totally an adequate description of of how I feel with this video. “T.O.P. on a chair, T.O.P. in a tea cup, T.O.P on the hood of a car, when T.O.P. is in a black and white, classy MV, I can watch T.O.P. any time!” Watch out – that’s gonna be a hit, right there.
Sexy T.O.P. on a car hood for you?
Sexy T.O.P. doing some sort of reverse Pulp Fiction thing for you?
Sexy T.O.P. doing a Charlie’s Angels pose thing for you?
Sexy Spock-T.O.P. doing some sort of buddhist thing in a tea cup for you?
On June 11th, I went to see 2PM and the Wondergirls perform at the House of Blues in LA on the Sunset Strip ^_^ It was a goooood show!
Among other songs, 2PM performed their debut song, “10 out of 10″ (10점 만점에 10점). So, I’ll admit it, I never really got down and studied the lyrics. As a result, while fancaming this you can hear me shouting, painfully out of tune, “10점 만점에 10점!” But, it’s all good!
Have you ever heard of a pop group with 48 members? I’m not joking! AKB48 actually has 48 girls in it! In addition, the group is theater-based! It’s composed of 3 groups of 16 girls and named after the part of Japan that the girls perform in: Akihabara.
The opening to the video for Ponytail ShuShu (ポニーテールとシュシュ), is kind of ridiculously over the top in a japanese school girl porno fashion, but um, I guess that’s Japanese culture?
I was wondering if Danson Tang (唐禹哲/Tang Yu Zhe) was back, and thankfully, Danson reassured me that he is. Then I got nervous again that maybe he was just fake-back, and I ate a bag of donuts during my anxiety attack. But, as I kept on listening Mr. Tang reconfirmed that he is indeed back, and I was relieved.
Danson definitely took a fashion note from Will I Am when his stylist put together this skirt-pant thing that he’s wearing. Danson in a skirt… Amber being a total tom-boy… I guess the goal is total androgyny. Seriously, what a confluence of fashions going on here.
I love the song, but it definitely sounds like “Buttons” by The Pussycat Dolls!
You can judge for yourself. Like the fashion? Do you agree that it sounds quite a bit like Buttons?
I think this world cup song phenomenon probably has something to do with the Korean cultural propensity for trending. Koreans love trends and following trends to the extent that I swear if an item becomes popular, everyone’s wearing it within a week. Too bad world cup songs don’t seem to be any quality. Why? Because they don’t have to be. The only thing that matters when it comes to world cup songs is that you release one. A band/singer could release a webcam video of themselves chanting “Go Korea” repeatedly, while one member drummed on the table and another farted to provide the bass, and the song would be hailed with success by the public.

The only official song chosen to represent Korea for the 2010 FIFA World Cup album is 2AM’s “No. 1″
. It was composed by Bang Shi Hyuk (방시혁), who did I Was Wrong (잘못했어), but it’s nowhere near as good.
I think my favorite World Cup song is “Victory Korea” by Super Junior (슈퍼주니어). It’s got a really fun beat and it’s catchy! What a novelty!
Another world cup performance I can kind of get into is T-ara’s (티아라) “We Are The One” (우리는 사람이야). It’s always fun to shout “ole ole” and I’m sure the ajjushi love to watch T-ara jumping around in their cheerleading outfits.
The new girl group, HAM, released their song “We Are One” (우리는 하나), on April 18th. My feeling is blah. Is this a World Cup song or an OST to a dramatic movie about a funeral at the World Cup?
Then, talk about star power, Big Bang (빅뱅) teamed up with hottie hot hot figure skater Kim Yuna (김연아) and the Korean rock group Trans Fixion (트랜스픽션) to release their World Cup song “The Shouts of Reds Part 2″ (승리의 함성) .
Oh wait! Hold the phone! There’s another girl band I almost forgot that released a world cup song: After School (애프터스쿨) released the song “Dreams Again!” (드림스 어게인!).
And then there’s 2PM with their song “What’s Your Celebration?” (너만의 짜릿한 세레모니를 보여줘)
Last, but not least, there’s another song I’ve previously blogged about: the Brown Eyed Girls (브라운 아이드 걸스) and 4Minute (포미닛) redo of The Village People’s song “Go West”, which is called “Once More, Korea!” (다시 한 번 대한민국)
I love Park Myung Soo. This man is comedic gold. If he really was gold, he’d be such quality, he’d be like 25 carats.
Perhaps the most genius part about the song and video for Fyah is that they are so over the top and so ridiculous in their dramatic nature, and for the most part they are simply using typical pop music and video imagery, to the point where some people wonder if its a parody or not.
Either way, my favorite part of the video is when PMS follows events to their natural conclusion and becomes a fire-warrior (for reals, he’s got a flame-thrower!) and carries a woman out from the flames.
The video also features another Infinity Challenge member: Gil (길)~ So enjoy!
