Gummy is making a comeback and apparently she is not feeling the love

Gummy’s first comeback track is “There is No Love” and it’s been released significantly ahead of time of the rest of her album, Loveless because YGE wants her to essentially have two comeback tracks…

I don’t think that’s how comebacks work…but, what do I know about such mystical, magical things as comebacks.

I think this track is pretty strong, so we’ll see how she’s received this time around. I just get creeped out cuz her name in Korean (거미) is the word for “spider” so whenever I run an image search, I get an arachnophobe’s worst nightmare.

The real exciting comeback track should be the one she’s scheduled to release with Teddy, an R&B song called “Because You’re a Guy”. I’m highly anticipating that one!

2PM has released “Without U”, without Jay Park

After a long wait and all sorts of speculation as to whether the group could succeed after Jay Park left, 2PM has released their first single for the album Don’t Stop Can’t Stop (I kind of chuckled to myself over that title since it reminded me of JYP’s No Love, No More, which was clearly his most successful musical venture. Not.) . It took me a little while to get into it, but I think the track grows on you.

I kind of wondered, upon seeing the title of the song “Without U” if it was aimed at Jay, but that’s all really open to interpretation. I think with 2PM’s recent work on the charity campaign “Happy Bean: Happy Energy”, which raises money for children’s school supplies (they’re partnered with Naver on this), the group is really working hard to promote a positive image.

Some netizens are protesting the video and still calling for boycotts, but I think the moment has passed and it’s time to begin accepting 6PM/1:59PM as 2PM again. After all, Jay is publicly supporting his old bandmates on his youtube page, with the following message posted on his bulletin board:

So, without further ado, here’s the mv for “Without U”:

My love for G-Dragon transcends creepy stabbings

I’m going to out myself: I love a boy in a cravat. I also love G-Dragon. By the transitive property: I go weak in the knees for G-Dragon in a cravat ^^ This video is like my two favorite man-genres: Mr. Rochester and good looking korean boys.

First though, I wanna show a cool pic of G-Dragon practicing that I found on the Korean internets ^^

So, back to this crazy horror film version of “She’s Gone”!

I don’t know how G-Dragon brings anime/manga characters to life so well, but he certainly can put on a show. I think he should be featured in some sort of manga. After all, the manga-style fanart drawings of him are always amazing. I would so read his manga series if he had one.

I love his little, “uh-oh, did I do that?” face that he makes after he stabs the girl.

ZE:A knows I always love me a 10 minute long dramatic music video

ZE:A has now released the full version of their music video for “All Day” (하루종일) and it doesn’t disappoint if you’re into super-extended music videos, I guess. It’s based off the classic Korean movie “Friends” (친구), which chronicles the epic nature of the friendship of a group of Korean high school friends as they get into some hardcore fights.

There’s a lot of speculation on whether or not this mv will be banned. Given the recent flurry of censorship over completely arbitrary nonissues, like traffic law violations, my guess is this mv will probably get banned, but who knows.

Get it while it’s hot:

HyunA reminds me that the Wild West never goes out of style

Last time I talked about HyunA, she had just released her first single independent of 4minute, and she was making waves with her cute star tattoo. Now she’s released a new hit song with E-Tribe, featuring Nassun, Outlaw In The Wild (황야의무법자) and she’s going the way of the Gorillaz with her cartoon-based mv!

I think my favorite part of the video is when Nassun throws an hombre y burro soju fiesta in the middle of the desert. I am such a fan.

Here’s the mv:

BY2 is super-cute and so is their song 這叫愛 (Zhe Jiao Ai)

So these girls are twin sisters from Singapore and they’re only 18 years old. They’ve had an album a year since they debuted when they were 16, so this album is called 成人禮/Grownup, because they’ve matured quite a bit.

I’m really loving the mv for 這叫愛/Zhe Jiao Ai/Everytime I Look Into Your Eyes – really not certain what title to go with for it, haha.

Korean snack time: Sea’s Gift Roasted Seaweed Snack

I am a total 먹보 ~ I have a debilitating late night snacking addiction. I admit it.

So, tonight when I dropped by the convenience store, I was super happy to discover flavored seaweed! Roasted and salted seaweed is love.

Quick Korean lesson! Kim (김) is the korean word for seaweed! But, it’s not the same kim as the common last name ~ that one is based off of the Chinese character 金, which means gold! Okay – end lesson, back to yummy things!

If you’re looking for a potato chip replacement, this stuff is golden. It’s only 30 calories per bag and it’s “a gift from the ancient sea”, so I guess we shouldn’t be ungrateful and should proceed to stuff it down our throats.

The back also comes with serving suggestions, like “eat traditional style with rice ball and spice”, “snack on like potato chips” or for the truly adventurous, “try as pizza topping”.

I don’t know where exactly it’s all available, but it’s imported by Jayone Foods and I did find it on amazon. Though I’m kind of sketched out that it says they have some used, haha.
